The ITEM Coalition engages in education and advocacy campaigns to eliminate barriers to access to assistive devices, technologies, and related services and to build support for legislative and regulatory changes to address these issues. Engaging in both direct lobbying and grassroots activism, the ITEM Coalition, a consumer-led organization, helps people with disabilities and chronic conditions maintain independence and live a healthier life.

The ITEM Coalition steering committee, in coordination with member organizations, regularly submits comments and position statements to the Administration and Congress.
